Residential Courses

Residential courses allow subjects to be explored in much greater depth than is possible on the day release scheme. The Course Organisers therefore aim to run two 48 hour residentials per year at varying venues. Subjects that have been included recently include "Law and Peace", "Sex on the Beach", and ethical dilemmas. We have been to hotels in Brighton and Bournemouth as well as Cisswood House near Horsham in recent times. A residential last June was on Challenging Patients whilst that in December was on legal and ethical issues in General Practice and included a trip on the London Eye.

At our recent residential in Brighton we discussed palliative care issues with the help of Dr Rose Turner Medical Director of The Martlets Hospice.

The rest of the residential concentrated on Breaking Bad News with the help of the simulators from the Deanery.
