Specialist Training Hospital Posts

The majority of the ST1 and ST2 posts are based at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill. These posts include Accident and Emergency, Care of the Elderly, General Medicine, Cardiology, Trauma and Orthopaedics, General Surgery, ENT, Urology, General Paediatrics, Community Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology. There are some Psychiatry posts at East Surrey with additional CAMHS and Psychiatry posts based in the Crawley and Horsham Hospitals in West Sussex.

 

Modernising Medical careers has produced significant changes in the training for General Practice, we have moved from a scheme which has consisted of four six month hospital posts, taken from the structure determined in 1981, followed by a year in a training practice. The standard training scheme now consists of six four month posts taken from a much wider field of posts followed by a year in general practice.
